The osteopathic rotating internship at Lutheran Medical Center emphasizes a commitment to excellence in clinical skills and the promotion of health within society and the individual. Interns are exposed to a broad range of experiences in both the inpatient and ambulatory setting. An array of lectures covering medical and related topics, a full curriculum in osteopathic methods and concepts, and numerous research opportunities further enhance the educational program.
The internship program reflects the current American Osteopathic Association (AOA) guidelines for a traditional rotating internship yet is flexible and can be tailored to meet the individual interests of each intern. Many of the Lutheran Medical Center interns have chosen to remain at Lutheran in the family practice, internal medicine, and obstetrics/gynecology residency programs. In addition to the traditional program, we offer family practice and internal medicine focused internships.
