WHO/WHAT: NYU Lutheran Medical Center's Memory Center will host three special screening events in honor of National Memory Screening Day. Experts from the LMC Memory Center will be available to provide memory screenings and answer questions. A memory screening involves an interview and evaluation with a neurologist or a psychiatrist to determine if someone is having difficulties outside of what would be considered normal for his or her age. Light refreshments will be served and screenings are free of cost. For anyone unable to attend, call 718-630-8600 to arrange a comprehensive screening.
National Memory Screening Day is part of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America's national initiative to promote early detection and intervention for those concerned about memory loss, as well as to educate the public about successful aging.
