NYU Lutheran and its board of Trustees will host its 131st Annual Dinner Dance on May 17. This year’s event
will be held at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.
Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s event, Lutheran raised $1.4 million which is benefitting the development of an Emergency Mental Health Center. Mental health needs in Brooklyn are huge and Lutheran has one of the busiest emergency rooms in Brooklyn, with a state-of-the-art Level I Trauma Center that meets the needs of a largely underserved population. The proceeds this year are designated to continue the Emergency Mental Health Center renovation.
We will be honoring our very own Myles Davis
, senior vice president for Corporate Services at NYU Lutheran, who has served the hospital and its community for 35 years. He is highly respected for leading and completing numerous important projects including the total renovation of the hospital and construction of the health care system’s nursing home and senior housing complexes.
There is certainly no better way of spotlighting Lutheran’s legacy of delivering high quality and compassionate health care than to recognize those who hold our patients in their very hands. As such, it is quite fitting that we are also honoring Naji A. Shahin, M.D.
, vice chairman of Surgery at NYU Lutheran. Dr. Shahin is a much beloved and respected physician and we are delighted to honor him for his service and dedication to our community.
