Konstantin Zakashansky, M.D.
Konstantin Zakashansky, M.D., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and serves as NYU Lutheran Medical Center's director of Gynecologic Oncology since 2008.
After completing two years at the Moscow Medical Academy, Dr. Zakashansky relocated to the United States and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook's School of Medicine. Dr. Zakashansky completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Beth Israel Medical Center and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Zakashansky's specialties include radical pelvic surgery, particularly minimally invasive approaches to treatments of benign and malignant gynecologic conditions.
Dr. Zakashansky is active in clinical and translational research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national meetings. He is an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
