Jeffrey Farkas, M.D.
Jeffrey Farkas, M.D., is a senior member of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery and is board certified in radiology, with more than 15 years of dedicated expertise in interventional neuroradiology, which is the minimally invasive treatment of vascular disease of the brain and spine. He is one of the most experienced neurointerventional surgeons/interventional neuroradiologists in the northeast.
Dr. Farkas trained at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. After completing his training, he went on to develop the first academic interventional neuroradiology program in New Jersey, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
After successfully starting and growing that program, he went on to develop another very successful interventional neuroradiology program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Farkas has written numerous articles and lectures throughout the country on interventional stroke therapy and interventional neuroradiology techniques. Dr. Farkas has participated in many interventional trials to assess and develop new devices in the battle to conquer stroke and brain vascular disease. Over the years, Dr. Farkas has expanded treatment options and works closely with the medical industry to perfect new devices to treat strokes and aneurysms.
