Bonnie Simmons, D.O., F.A.C.E.P., is chair and senior vice president of Emergency Medicine. She joined Lutheran from Cabrini Medical Center in Manhattan where she was director of Emergency Medicine, the hyperbaric unit and pre-hospital care. She also spent seven years in Harlem where she was director of Emergency Medicine at North General Hospital. Board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Simmons was instrumental in the development of EMS disaster planning and incident command structures for New York metro area hospitals, FDNY and New York State's 911 system. She received her pre-medical training at Columbia University and is a graduate of New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at Lincoln Hospital, an emergency department in New York City with greater than 100,000 visits per year.
