LMC HOSTS NATIONAL GRID, NYSERDA HOSPITAL INITIATIVE LAUNCH

What: National Grid and the New York State Energy Research Development Authority will announce a powerful new partnership to help hospitals across New York State reduce their energy usage, save on operating costs and minimize their greenhouse gas emissions through the efficient use of electricity and natural gas. Lutheran Medical Center, a leader in operating in an environmentally sound manner, will host the event and kick-off the initiative at their facility in Southwest Brooklyn. Lutheran was one of the first New York City hospitals to install a natural gas cogeneration facility to efficiently power their buildings. There will be opportunities to learn about "green" initiatives and see some of the energy-efficient features in the hospital.
