FOOD NETWORK STAR DAISY MARTINEZ CELEBRATES NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK WITH LFHC
Wellness fair and healthy cook-off contest on Lutheran Lane
WHO/WHAT: Lutheran Family Health Centers will host a Wellness Fair on August 10 in honor of National Health Center Week. The goal of this event is to celebrate Lutheran Family Health Centers and National Health Center Week and to increase the availability and knowledge of nutritious foods to those in Southwest Brooklyn.
The highlight of the event will be a healthy cook-off. The competition will feature celebrity guest judge, Food Network star and best-selling author, Daisy Martinez. Additional judges include community leaders and LFHC and Health Plus executives. Elected officials have been invited to attend the event as well.
Other wellness fair activities include live cooking demonstrations from Cornell Cooperative Extension, fitness and health insurance information, dental, glucose and blood pressure screenings, raffles, refreshments and more.
