COUNCILWOMAN SARA GONZALEZ COMMEMORATES MOTHER THERESA'S 100TH BIRTHDAY AT LHC SUNSET PARK SENIOR CENTER
WHAT: Councilwoman Sara Gonzalez, and her staff, will serve lunch to senior citizens at the Sunset Park Senior Center as part of the New York City Council's tribute to Mother Theresa. New York City Council members have urged New Yorkers to participate in a day of service to commemorate what would have been Mother Theresa's 100th birthday.
The Sunset Park Senior Center, one of Lutheran HealthCare's community-based programs, provides group meals five days a week (serving an average of 135 people a day), home-delivered meals six days a week, case management services, educational and recreational services, ESL classes and health workshops and screenings. To help support its neighbors throughout all stages of their lives, Lutheran HealthCare has developed a full array of services for older adults.
