FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NG FOOK FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, DONATES $20K TO LUTHERAN'S NEW BROOKLYN-CHINESE FAMILY HEALTH CENTER

August 27, 2010, Brooklyn, NY…NG Fook Funeral Services, LLC, has generously donated $20,000 to Lutheran Family Health Centers for the construction of the new Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center. Expected to open by the end of the year, the new site, at 7th Avenue and 50th Street, will be twice the size of the current clinic and specifically designed to meet the needs of one of the city's fastest growing ethnic groups.

The $20,000 donation earned NG Fook Funeral Services, LLC, the naming rights of one of ten exam rooms. The check was presented by Amy Mak Chan, CEO, NG Fook Funeral Services, LLC to Larry K. McReynolds, executive director, Lutheran Family Health Centers. The funeral services group has been a longtime supporter of the Lutheran Family Health Centers network and joins a growing list of community organizations contributing to the new Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center.

The new community health center will feature more than 10,000 square feet of clinical space. The full-service site will include ten exam rooms, a rehabilitation gym, a dental area with four dental chairs, medical offices and conference rooms. The expanded space will also allow for an increase in staff to over 30 full-time health care workers.

LFHC's Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center was established ten years ago to providing high-quality, affordable health care to the growing Asian population in southwest Brooklyn. In 2004, as a leader in cultural competence, Lutheran Medical Center opened the area's first dedicated Chinese inpatient medical units at Lutheran Medical Center, a significant feat and cultural advancement for a privately owned safety net hospital to accomplish. Those interested in donating to the new Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center should contact Jeanne Solitario at 718-630-6225. Naming opportunities are available for donations ranging from $1,000 up to $300,000.

Ms. Chan has more than 25 years experience in the funeral services industry and is also president of Fook Funeral Group, which has five locations in metropolitan New York area. She is an active member of the community and in 1997 founded the Celestial Love Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization focused on providing support to those in need during end of life circumstance.
