LFHC HOSTS GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR NEW BROOKLYN-CHINESE FAMILY HEALTH CENTER
WHO/WHAT: Lutheran Family Health Centers (LFHC) will host a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of the new Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center. The ceremony will be hosted by Reverend Samuel Fook Wong, president, Sunset Park Health Council, and Larry K. McReynolds, executive director, LFHC, and will be attended by elected officials, including Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, N.Y.S. Senator Diane Savino and N.Y.S. Assemblyman Felix Ortiz.
The new site, in the heart of Chinatown, will be twice the size of the current clinic and specifically designed to meet the needs of one of the city's fastest growing ethnic groups.

LFHC's Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center was established ten years ago to providing high-quality, affordable health care to the growing Asian population in southwest Brooklyn. In 2004, as a leader in cultural competence, Lutheran Medical Center opened the area's first dedicated Chinese inpatient medical units at Lutheran Medical Center, a significant feat and cultural advancement for a privately owned safety net hospital to accomplish.
