LFHC, HEALTH PLUS AND NETS BASKETBALL TEAM UP TO HOST THIRD ANNUAL "SHOOT-FOR-BETTER-HEALTH" TIP OFF EVENT
ADA endorsed initiative combats childhood obesity

WHAT:      For the third year, Lutheran Family Health Centers and Health Plus are teaming up with the NETS to help kids Shoot for Better Health and improve fitness and dietary habits by scoring a perfect 5-2-1-0 every day. The launch of this annual ADA endorsed initiative will feature a visit from NETS legend, Darryl Dawkins, the NETS Dancers and their mascot, Sly, as well as a Dance Dance Revolution demonstration.

How kids can score a perfect 5-2-1-0: Eat five servings of fruits and vegetables, limit TV and computer time to two hours a day, get at least an hour of exercise a day, and cut out soda or sugar sweetened drinks.

As a major contributor to the program's success, the NETS will also host a full-day basketball clinic and a reward night to honor 5-2-1-0 participants at Izod Center in the spring of 2011.
