NETS PLAYER DERRICK FAVORS, NETS DANCERS AND TEAM MASCOT, MINI-SLY, BRING HOLIDAY CHEER TO LFHC AND HEALTH PLUS
WHO/WHAT: Lutheran Family Health Centers (LFHC), NETS Basketball, and Health Plus have teamed up to brighten the holidays for LFHC patients. Accompanied by NETS rookie forward Derrick Favors, the NETS Dancers and team mascot, Mini-Sly, Santa will hand out gifts and take photographs with children. Patients from four select Lutheran Family Health Center sites were invited to participate in this holiday activity.
WHERE: LFHC Sunset Park Family Health Center, 5610 2nd Avenue, Brooklyn
WHEN: Wednesday, December 15, 2 to 3 p.m.
LFHC and Health Plus have partnered with the NETS in the past to donate turkeys to area patients and families. They also launched the third annual "Shoot for Better Health" campaign in local schools in September 2010. Endorsed by the American Diabetes Association, this unique initiative aims to improve fitness and dietary habits in children. As a major contributor to the program's success, the NETS will also host a full-day basketball clinic and a reward night to honor participants at Prudential Center in Spring 2011.
