HONOREES AND EMCEE ANNOUNCED FOR LHC'S CASINO ROYALE DINNER DANCE
128th Anniversary black-tie affair benefits ICU upgrade
February 18, 2011, Brooklyn, NY
Lutheran HealthCare and its Board of Trustees are proud to announce plans for the 128th Anniversary Dinner Dance. The Casino Royale themed black-tie affair is Lutheran HealthCare's primary fundraiser. The annual gala will be held at the Marriott Marquis (1535 Broadway), in the heart of Times Square, on Saturday, May 7. The proceeds of this year's event will benefit the upgrade of the medical center's existing Intensive Care Unit.
In addition to raising much-needed funds, the annual dinner dance celebrates Lutheran's 128-year legacy of providing care to the communities of Brooklyn and honors special individuals who have made tremendous contributions to Lutheran and the patients we serve. This year's Physician Honoree is Anthony L. DiMango, D.D.S., chief of Dentistry and director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Corporate Honoree is Frenkel and Company. Wendy Z. Goldstein, president and CEO, will be honored for ten years of leadership.
Veteran television journalist and MSNBC anchor, Contessa Brewer, will emcee the festivities. Ms. Brewer is known for her marathon on-air coverage of breaking news and big political stories, as well as her work as a national correspondent, frequent contributor to NBC broadcasts and host of MSNBC's prime-time series "Caught on Camera."
Anthony L. DiMango, D.D.S, chair, Dentistry and director, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, has been a member of the Lutheran family for over fifty years. Dr. DiMango is a leader in his profession and has a long career of service and dedication to his patients, the dental profession and our community. The commitment continues to this very day through his teaching Lutheran's oral surgery and general practice residents. He is highly regarded by his peers, beloved by his students and adored by his patients.
Frenkel and Company is the 28th largest privately owned broker in the U.S., which Lutheran has had the privilege of working with and experiencing an extraordinary level of service for ten years. Frenkel and Lutheran have created a truly comprehensive property and casualty insurance program that is constantly adapting to ensure our coverage keeps pace with the changing needs of our organization.
Lutheran's Medical and Dental staff is also delighted to honor Wendy Z. Goldstein, who will be recognized for her ten years of service as president and CEO. Ms. Goldstein came to Lutheran with a well-established and highly regarded professional history of accomplishment within the N.Y.C. health care arena. Over her ten years, she has reinvented the Lutheran brand by creating a strong inter-dependent system of services now known as Lutheran HealthCare.
Last year's casino themed event was attended by more than 900 partygoers and raised over $1.2 million. Guests of previous dinner dances have included celebrities such as Sopranos star, Tony Sirico, and local elected officials.
