BROOKLYN CONGREGATIONS UNITED, LUTHERAN FAMILY HEALTH CENTERS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS MARK ANNIVERSARY OF AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

WHO/WHAT: To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Brooklyn Congregations United (BCU) and Lutheran Family Health Centers will highlight the critical role primary care, community health centers and safety net hospitals play in the future of health in New York and to make sure the gaps between access and care are successfully bridged.
This event is one of ten public events organized by faith-based organizations associated with the PICO National Network, an alliance of 1,000 congregations helping families improve their communities, as part of their "Bring Health Reform Home" campaign.
Speakers Include:
· Reverend David Rommereim, Chair, Lutheran Augustana Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation, and BCU Vice-Chair (emcee)
· The Honorable Nydia Velazquez, Congresswoman
· Caya Lewis, Chief of Staff, CMS
· Rev. Dr. Samuel Fook Wong, President Sunset Park Health Council
· Larry K. McReynolds, Executive Director, Lutheran Family Health Centers
· ACA beneficiaries and patients on successes/issues in accessing care
