CASINO ROYALE GALA RAISES OVER $1.1 MILLION TO BENEFIT ICU UPGRADE
Lutheran HealthCare's 128th Anniversary Dinner Dance attended by over 800 supporters
May 12, 2011, Brooklyn, NY…Lutheran HealthCare won big at the 128th Anniversary Dinner Dance on May 7 at the Marriott Marquis. The Casino Royale-themed black tie affair was attended by over 800 guests and raised more than $1.1 million to benefit the upgrade of the medical center's existing Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Hosted by MSNBC anchor, Contessa Brewer, the night was full of exciting casino games and top-notch silent auction prizes and honored Anthony L. DiMango, D.D.S., chief, Dentistry and director, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, (Physician Honoree), and Frenkel & Company (Corporate Honoree). This year's event also recognized Wendy Z. Goldstein, president and CEO of Lutheran HealthCare, for ten years of steadfast leadership.
A special thank you to the evening's co-sponsor, Mount Sinai Medical Center. The event attracted a who's who of Brooklyn elected officials as well as Sopranos star, Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts on the hit HBO show). Top casino prizes included all expense paid trips to the Bahamas (grand prize), Las Vegas (second prize) and N.Y.C. (third prize). Top selling silent auction items included a vacation property in Italy, sports memorabilia, designer jewelry, a first-class spa experience and much more.
