LHC HONORS DAISY AWARD WINNING R.N. AT 8TH ANNUAL BROOKLYN CYCLONES DAY
August 17, 2011, Brooklyn, NY
Donna Crockett, R.N., PACU, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Lutheran HealthCare's 8th Annual Brooklyn Cyclones Day on August 8. Ms. Crockett was awarded the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in December 2010 for her outstanding, skillful care and exceptional compassion.
"We are grateful for the skilled, compassionate care given by Lutheran nurses each and every day," said Rosanne Raso, chief nursing officer. "This opportunity to publicly acknowledge a DAISY Award winner among her colleagues, and Brooklyn neighbors, at this game was a truly wonderful honor."
Approximately 600 employees and family members attended the annual employee picnic and watched the Brooklyn Cyclones achieve a 7-5 win over the Staten Island Yankees. The baseball game was held at MCU Park in Coney Island. Attendees received a specially designed Cyclones/Lutheran HealthCare t-shirt and a Cyclones hat.
Hospitals across the country, like Lutheran Medical Center, honor their nurses with monthly DAISY Awards. Lutheran has given monthly awards to exceptional members of its nursing staff since March 2010. Click here for more information.
