Lutheran Medical Center's maternity center, a patient favorite, is the proud recipient of five Johnson and Johnson Childbirth Nursing Awards.
The nationwide award is given to maternity centers, like Lutheran's, that demonstrate commitment to improving the health of women and newborns, and exemplify the highest standards of professional behavior and teamwork. Lutheran's maternity center staff were nominated by five former patients this year. Additionally the maternity center will be automatically entered into the drawing for a chance to win one of four $1,000 educational grants.
The nominations mean that more and more Brooklynites are choosing Lutheran. Local celebrity and NY1 News Brooklyn reporter, Jeanine Ramirez, welcomed the latest addition to her family at Lutheran Medical Center. Her third child, Antonio Joseph, was born on November 28, weighing in at eight pounds and ten ounces. Jeanine's second child was also born at Lutheran.
"The nursing staff at Lutheran Medical Center really put me at ease at a time that can be extremely nerve racking," said Jeanine Ramirez, NY1 News Brooklyn reporter. "I felt confident that the nurses were not only taking care of me but more importantly, my newborn son. Their dedication is inspiring and their hard work deserves recognition."
