LUTHERAN MEDICAL CENTER WELCOMES COVIDIEN INNOVATION TOUR TO STUDY THE LATEST HI-TECH, MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGICAL PROCEDURES
85-foot tractor-trailer transforms into 1,200-square foot mobile operating room training facility
WHO/WHAT: Covidien's Innovation Tour brings a state-of-the-art operating room on wheels to Brooklyn on June 13. The 85-foot tractor-trailer will transform into a 1,200-square foot training facility, including five operating room stations, where surgeons, nurses, OR techs, and medical students from Lutheran Medical Center will sharpen their skills on advanced tools and procedures for laparoscopic surgery. These single incision "belly button" type procedures enable safer surgeries and faster recoveries for patients. The mobile trailer offers direct onsite training to health care staff and surgeons eliminating the need to travel.
