January 30, 2012, Brooklyn, NY…
As expected, the Year of the Dragon has turned out to be an exciting time for new moms and families. Lutheran Family Health Centers is happy to celebrate its first baby born in the Chinese Year of the Dragon!

The special dragon baby, Halen Jiang, whose mother, Mei Jin Lin, and father, Chun Wang Jiang, are members of the Brooklyn-Chinese FHC, was born at 6:05 p.m. on January 23. Mid wife Yuen Kwan Chan, who speaks Mandarin and Cantonese, delivered Halen at Lutheran Medical Center via natural delivery. Chan is a regular provider at the Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center located at 5008 7th Avenue. Baby Halen, who was 8 pounds, 4 ounces at birth, joins a big brother, Alan.

The Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center was established by LFHC to meet the health care needs of the growing Asian population in southwest Brooklyn. For nearly ten years the center has been a leader in providing high-quality, affordable and culturally competent health care to the Asian-American community. The Brooklyn-Chinese Family Health Center is located at 5008 7th Avenue in the heart of Brooklyn's Chinatown.
