Winter to be honored at 129th Annual Dinner Dance
April 25, 2012, Brooklyn, New York...Former Lutheran Medical Center employee, Brooklyn native and creator and executive producer of HBO's award-winning series Boardwalk Empire Terence Winter returned to Brooklyn on April 23. Mr. Winter, who served as a security guard at Lutheran Medical Center in the 1980s, is the featured Corporate Honoree of Lutheran's 129th Annual Dinner Dance.
Mr. Winter was joined by fellow Brooklyn native, long-time supporter of Lutheran Medical Center and HBO colleague Tony Sirico, who played Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri on HBO's award-winning series The Sopranos as well as past cast member of The Sopranos, Dominic Chianese, who currently stars as Leander Cephas Whitlock on HBO's award–winning series Boardwalk Empire. Mr. Chianese played the role of Junior Soprano in The Sopranos.
Led by Wendy Z. Goldstein, president and CEO of Lutheran HealthCare, the group toured Lutheran's recently renovated Emergency Department and Surgical Intensive Care Unit, as well as the specially designed Chinese Inpatient Unit. Mr. Winter also had the chance to meet and greet the current security team at Lutheran.
Lutheran HealthCare's 129th Annual Dinner Dance will honor Mr. Winter and Jayanth V. Rao, M.D., chairman of Radiology. The gala is Lutheran's primary fundraiser, and will be held at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, in Manhattan on May 19, 2012.
