Representatives from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the New York State Department of Health joined together to announce Lutheran Family Health Centers (LFHC) as the recipient of a total of $6,048,345 in grants made possible through President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act. Under this act, funds will be used to help community health centers build and expand their centers, create new jobs, and increase access to health care for an additional 860,000 patients.

"We are grateful for the support we have received as a result of the Affordable Care Act," said Larry K. McReynolds, executive director, LFHC. "These funds will increase our capacity for providing vital services to all members of our community, specifically at the Park Slope Family Health Center, Sunset Terrace Family Health Center, and in the Community Medicine Program."
