HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS AT LUTHERAN
December 16, 2012, Brooklyn, NY
Lutheran has kicked off the holiday season with a number of celebrations. Lutheran recognized Chanukah on December 11 with the lighting of the menorah. In addition, staff and patients were treated to holiday songs by the boys of Lubavitch Yeshiva of Ocean Parkway. The reading of special prayers and the story of Chanukah were followed by a feast of traditional latkes, chocolate gelt and jelly donuts.
Two days later, Lutheran welcomed the Christmas season with the annual tree lighting ceremony. The celebration featured music and Christmas carols by student violinists from P.S. 506. After placing the final ornaments on the tree, it was lit for the holiday. Santa Claus even stopped by to visit! A Kwanzaa celebration will be held on December 31 in the LMC main lobby.
Additionally, HealthPlus Amerigroup visited Lutheran on December 12, along with Santa, for a surprise visit with our patients. Santa and his helpers stopped by LMC's Pediatric Department and LFHC's Sunset Park Family Health Center with gifts and the chance for children of all ages to get their faces painted and have a photo with Santa.
