Adult Medicine provides primary care services for patients 18 years of age and older. Services include preventive care such as vaccinations, comprehensive physicals including vision and hearing screening, lab work and electrocardiograms (EKGs); care of conditions such as chronic hypertension, diabetes, asthma and allergy; and episodic care for ailments such as colds, stomach ailments, bleeding and arthritis.
Pediatrics

Pediatrics provides primary care services for infants and children up to 12 years old. Services include preventive care such as general check ups, immunizations, health screening for tuberculosis, anemia, lead, hearing, development and behavior. Our medical staff can handle and treat acute and chronic medical conditions in children.
Youth Health Services we provide adolescent care with complete physical exams and immunization and health education on important topics such as substance abuse, AIDS, and sexual transmitted diseases, physical development and social services and psychosocial counseling if needed. Adolescents who need GYN and Obstetrical services are referred to our Women's Health Department.
Specialty Services we offer subspecialty services for children who need referrals for special chronic health problems involving cardiac, kidney, nervous system, blood, lung problems, endocrine, inherited conditions and children with AIDS related conditions.
Urgent Care for children with acute illnesses unable to access their primary providers on the same day.

Women's Health Services:

Women's Health provides perinatal care including pregnancy testing, routine prenatal and postpartum care, care of high risk pregnancies and genetic counseling for expectant mothers 35 years and older. We offer the Prenatal Care Assistance Program (PCAP). General gynecological examinations and Pap smears, treatment of conditions such as menstrual problems, infertility and cancer screenings are provided. Family Planning services include oral contraceptives, condoms and birth control devices. Estrogen replacement therapy for menopausal women is also available. In addition, other specialized services are also offered:

The Dental program offers a comprehensive range of family and preventive dental services such as:

- Orthodontics (teeth straightening/braces)
- Periodontics (gum treatment)
- Endodontics (root canal therapy)
- Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine (biopsy)
- Prosthodontics (fixed and removable dentures)
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (extractions)
- Dental Anesthesiology (sedation using sweet air [laughing gas], or general [operating room] for handicapped patients or very fearful patients)
Our general dentists, specialists and dental hygienists work as a team to provide state-of-the-art dental care.
HIV Counseling and Testing

Counseling and testing for HIV infection is provided by counselors who have been trained and certified by the New York City Department of Health. Services are offered Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. HIV counseling/testing is also available at all our full-time clinics: Park Slope, Family Physician Center, Shore Road, and Caribbean-American Center.
Medicaid Eligibility

A Medicaid Eligibility Specialist will assist you in applying for Medicaid to cover the cost of your health care. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
Nutrition Services

Nutrition and diet counseling are available to you by physician referral. Classes in diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol control are also offered.
Transportation

Your primary care physician will refer you to this service if you have Medicaid coverage and have a disability that requires you to use an ambulette or other type of transportation. A representative is available to assist you Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Radiology (X-ray)

Your primary care or specialty care physician will refer you to this service at Lutheran Medical Center (Third Floor) when necessary. Services are offered Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. If you are on the Family Health Center Sliding Fee Scale, you will receive a discount on all radiology procedures.
24-Hour Physician and Dentist Hotline

If you are experiencing a medical problem after the health center is closed, you can get medical advice or a referral by calling the 24-hour hotline. A bilingual operator will take your call and a physician will call you back.
