Our Team of Experts

Michael Gerling, M.D., is a board certified orthopedic and spine surgeon. He specializes in using minimally invasive techniques to treat degenerative and disk-related diseases of the spine, as well as other conditions. Dr. Gerling conducted his medical training at the University of California, San Diego. He did his internship and residency at Ochsner Health Systems in New Orleans and his fellowship at Case Western University, where he was trained by the well-known spine surgeon Henry Bohlman, M.D. He joined Lutheran Medical Center in April 2009. "Lutheran is very patient-care oriented," he says. "And the fact that the orthopedics department was rated number one in Brooklyn by HealthGrades for the third year in a row speaks for itself."
