Lutheran Takes the Operating Room to Area Schools
A recent OR to the School was held at P.S. 172, where Jose Hernandez, M.S., R.N., VP surgical services, guided children through a mock surgery and explained the different aspects of an operating room.
 During the session, students gained first-hand knowledge and experience of operating room processes as well as job functions of key operating team professionals. The program also educates children on the rewards of a professional career in health care.
Students who "performed" surgeries were equipped with disposable scrubs, masks, face shields and shoe booties.
